Dog and Child at Play, circa 1850 is the work of French sculptor, Christophe Fratin, one of the most successful and well-known animal sculptors his day. Fratin received public and private commissions for bronze sculptures throughout Europe. Dog and Child at Play is significant for its monumental size and lifelike modeling.
Willow Glen was built between 1914 and 1920 for coal baron John Camden McKinley as a gift to his socialite bride, Agra Bennet McKinley. The 30+ room house was built of locally quarried sandstone in the eclectic style with lighting by Tiffany Studios and furnished with objects procured in the couple’s travels.
